Op 13 september 2024 was onze fotograaf Philippe in het Shatila vluchtelingenkamp in Beirut en heeft daar uitgebreid gesproken met de oprichter, dr. Mohammad al Khatib. Daarbij heeft hij alvast enkele fotootjes gemaakt.
On September 13, 2024, our photographer Philippe visited the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, where he had extensive discussions with the founder, Dr. Mohammad al Khatib. During that visit, he also took a few preliminary photographs.
Daarbij werd afgesproken dat hij eind van die maand zou terugkomen om alle opnamen voor ons virtueel museum te maken. Maar dat vervolgbezoek is er vanwege de Israëlische vijandelijkheden dus niet meer van gekomen omdat op de afgesproken datum het museum was gesloten en de eigenaar gevlucht.
It was agreed that he would return at the end of the month to make all the recordings for our virtual museum. However, due to the Israeli hostilities, that follow-up visit never took place, because on the agreed date the museum was closed and the owner had fled.
Het museum heeft geen eigen website. Maar op internet staan wel diverse artikelen, zoals die in 2015, 2016 en 2023, inclusief heel wat interessante foto’s.
